Kintegra Receives the NC Navigator Consortium Member Impact Award

Industry News

The NC Navigator Consortium is made up of twelve dedicated members, with Kintegra Health receiving the prestigious Consortium Member Impact Award. Verlina Lomick accepted the award on behalf of Kintegra Health, expressing, “We are honored to accept this award. We believe that affordable healthcare is a fundamental human right, and our mission is to care for our community, regardless of the ability to pay. We are excited to enhance our outreach efforts to improve access and enrollment in Medicaid Expansion.”

The event also included a press conference with notable speakers, such as Dr. Elenor Greene from Triad Women’s Center, Jay Ludlam, Deputy Secretary of NC Medicaid, Jennifer (a Marketplace Consumer), Nicholas Riggs, NC Navigator Consortium Director, and Rebecca Cerese from the NC Justice Center. Media coverage was extensive, with representatives from WRAL and the Raleigh News & Observer present.

In 2023, North Carolina lawmakers approved an expansion to the Medicaid system, extending coverage to individuals earning up to 138% of the federal poverty level, which amounts to nearly $37,000 annually for a family of three. However, for the expansion to continue, the federal government must contribute at least 90% of the costs for expansion patients. If the federal contribution falls below 90%, those individuals would no longer be eligible for coverage.
